ZOOM! Teeth Whitening
ZOOM! teeth whitening procedures are used to brighten the appearance of a patient’s smile – sometimes by as many as 5-10 shades in a single session. According to the American Dental Association, teeth whitening procedures have become some of the most popular aesthetic dental treatments among patients throughout the country, including Cedar Park.
Professional teeth whitening services can be performed in an office setting or prescribed for take-home use by a patient. In comparison to over-the-counter teeth whitening treatments, professional whitening uses stronger whitening agents that deliver faster and more effective results.
Cosmetic Fillers
Our dental office provides cosmetic fillers to help our patients feel better about their aesthetic appearance. Once they’ve invested in porcelain veneers or other treatment options to help them achieve a brighter smile, many start to take a closer look at all those fine lines and wrinkles around their mouth. Cosmetic fillers are used to complement the rest of your cosmetic dental care provided here.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
When repairing small to medium-sized cavities, tooth-colored fillings provide durability and resistance to fracture. They can be used on either your front or back teeth because of their natural look. Made from a mixture of acrylic resin and finely ground glasslike particles, tooth-colored fillings usually require less tooth structure to be removed than that of an amalgam filling. Tooth-colored fillings are almost impossible to see, and because they bond directly to your tooth’s enamel, they’re strong and resist most wear-and-tear.
The procedure is simple and requires just one appointment. The dentist will first choose the shade of composite that best matches your natural tooth color. After removing any decay and placing the composite, a special curing light will be used to harden each layer of filling material. The filling will be shaped to perfectly fit your tooth and then polished so that it remains smooth and more resistant to staining.
Dental Sealants
A dental sealant is a thin coating that’s applied to your molars to help fill in deep grooves and pits that can harbor harmful bacteria in your mouth. Sealants are applied to healthy chewing surfaces of your teeth to prevent decay and cavities – especially among children. According to the Centers for Disease Control, tooth decay affects more than half of children ages 6-8. Sealants are recommended shortly after the molars have erupted from the gums, usually beginning around age 6.
Dental sealants can last up to 10 years in the average patient. Many parents choose sealants for their children because it’s more affordable and less invasive to prevent cavities than it is to treat irreversible dental decay. Sealants are clear and aren’t noticeable when talking, smiling, or eating. Dental sealants cover approximately 90% of the tooth structure and are extremely effective when fully preserved.
Porcelain Veneers
Are you looking to repair broken, crooked or discolored teeth? If so, our team at Town Center Dental can resolve those issues by outfitting you with custom-made porcelain veneers. We first take a mold of your teeth and determine the most natural-looking color. Our dental technicians will then use our advanced equipment to craft your porcelain veneers. After bonding the veneers to the front of your teeth, you’ll enjoy the many benefits of a restored, aesthetically pleasing smile.
